Leadership
The thing that sets apart a successful change program from a mediocre (or damaging one) is the ability of leaders to set the right tone and direction for the change and their ability to inspire people. The ability to inspire the team - which combines vision with the ability to communicate that vision, is a key determinant of success. Someone once wrote that 'Leaders give meaning to the work of others' - as true of managing the status quo as it is of managing change.
“Leadership is the art of getting someone to do something you want done because he wants to do it.”
Dwight D. Eisenhower
